A LITTLE EYE CANDY
April 14 Monday 2008

I've always loved butterflies. I think they are some of nature's most beautiful creatures (along with tigers and emperor penguins), and I'm fascinated by both their design and colour. Despite it having become rather cliché, I still enjoy using butterflies to inject a touch of vibrancy into my websites, wallpapers and the like. Unfortunately, their delicate hues have become a shade fuzzy to me of late. It turns out I need to wear glasses.

When Kayi and I were in the UK last summer, I found myself straining to see clearly, and I was getting throbbing headaches in bright light. I'd originally attributed it to lack of sleep, but it continued to get worse even when I was getting more than my fair share of forty-winks.

I'm still not used to seeing myself in the mirror with them on, but apart from that (and the occasional misting up), my glasses have changed the way I see the world. Everything seems to be in high-definition, and I find I have a lot more energy in the day now - praise God!
