THE WORLD'S END A rather bleak name, but the name of an area in London, nonetheless. World’s End is home to around 3,000 people, where some 50 languages are spoken. It's also home to a community project set up by HTB called The Trust. The Trust runs English classes for speakers of other languages, study support for children and teenagers, computer training courses, as well as community lunches, Alpha, and discipleship groups. Jonathan, Andy and I spent a Thursday afternoon helping out at The Trust. We went on a prayer walk for about an hour, before collecting food from a local school to distribute to families living on the estate. I was in Covant Garden the next day with my Dad, and I thought my world had ended, when I was called out from the crowd to take part in street-performance. I had to engage in several acts bordering on scandalous, but I managed to keep my composure and clothes on for the duration of the show... the floor was cold. |
