I CAN SEE CRAVEN COTTAGE
October 11 Thursday 2007

Another post about accommodation, which is hopefully my last for a while. We (the interns) have moved out of our hotel room in Earl’s Court and into a house in Fulham that belongs to one of the staff at HTB. The remaining two interns, Rajesh from India and Hanniel from Philippines, arrived last week, completing what I like to refer to as, “The Global Five”.

I’m sharing a large room with John from Malaysia, which is so much more comfortable than being in a room with five beds! We’re also situated on a quiet road, so there’s no noisy drunken people, fights or street parties to keep us from sleeping. We also have a huge lounge, kitchen and dining area, which gives us all some “breathing space” and a degree of privacy when we retire to our rooms – something I’ve grown to miss over the last month.

I’m about halfway through the programme now, and although I’m enjoying my time here and embracing the challenges and surprises each new day brings, I’m missing home (home being HK). There are the usual things I miss, like good-working public transport, food, night-shopping, vibe... but more than that, I miss my church; church being my friends and family at The Vine Christian Fellowship.

If you haven't checked it out already, click here to launch The Vine's newly revamped website. I helped work on the design and layout just before I left for my internship. If you're looking for a church in Hong Kong, or simply interested in seeing some of the things that are happening in the city - check it out. There are various podcasts to subscribe too as well as videos to watch like Vine News. There's so much going on, and I can't wait to get back...
